Products that nobody needs - because they are ineffective and useless

At the beginning of and during the coronavirus crisis, many products against the virus sprouted up and are still available.

IDE-Compressors has been seriously concerned with the subject of air quality for many years and would therefore like to do a little educational work here,

as these dubious products are used to trick customers into believing they have a health benefit and these largely useless products appear again and again in national and international tenders.

For example, the product of a well-known German manufacturer, viruses kill with UV LAMP in the intake tract of a breathing air compressor.

The question generally arises as to how the virus is supposed to get into the intake tract of the compressor in the first place.

With the high air flow rate and speed of the air flowing through

the UV LAMP is practically ineffective.

The viruses can only be killed if they are in direct contact with the UV lamp for a few seconds.

But certainly not 99.9%, as the manufacturer claims again, because the contact time with the lamp at the high flow rate of the air flow is far too short to have any real effect here.

The manufacturer's claim that the viruses are not killed during the compression process despite the high temperatures prevailing in the compressor because the contact time is too short due to the high flow rate is absolutely false.

Viruses burst at around 60 °C and cannot tolerate pressure.

During the compression process, the air is compressed three or four times to pressures between 4 and 420 bar and in each compression stage the air is heated to at least 120 °C and much higher.

Which virus is supposed to survive?

In addition, the activated carbon in the final filter also removes any viruses.

The manufacturer is using its good name to sell the customer something that is relatively expensive and cannot fulfill the advertised purpose.

It is highly questionable that a renowned German research institute should lend its good name and logo to the manufacturer's advertising for this product.

As described in the BILD newspaper of 27.05.2020:

"With bold promises, many retailers are trying to take money out of your pocket during the corona crisis, "often pure rip-off"!

True miracle products such as medicinal mushrooms, which kill the virus, or the bee product propolis and UV lamps are advertised.
